Curriculum Vitae
Marcus Maeder (1971) ist Künstler, Naturwissenschaftler und Komponist. Als Autor hat Maeder zu einer Reihe von Themen in den Bereichen Klangkunst, akustische Ökologie, künstlerische Forschung und digitale Medien geschrieben. Maeder studierte Freie Kunst an der Hochschule Luzern (HSLU), Philosophie an der Fernuniversität in Hagen und promovierte in Umweltsystemwissenschaften an der ETH Zürich. Er arbeitete als Redakteur und Produzent für das Schweizer Radio SRF und als Forscher und Dozent am Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology (ICST) der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK. Maeder ist Gastwissenschaftler an der Eidgenössischen Forschungsanstalt für Wald, Schnee und Landschaft WSL und ist Humboldt-Forschungsstipendiat an der Freien Universität Berlin. Er ist Vizepräsident der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Akustische Ökologie SSAE und Vorstandsmitglied des Weltforums für Akustische Ökologie WFAE.
In seiner Forschung beschäftigt sich Maeder mit bio- und ökoakustischen Untersuchungen von Gebieten, Gemeinschaften und Organismen unter dem Einfluss des Klimawandels und anderer Umweltprobleme. Er kontextualisiert seine wissenschaftliche Arbeit in den Bereichen Akustische Ökologie und Soundscape Ecology, sowie in der künstlerischen Forschung. Marcus Maeders Kunst ist im Bereich der Umwelt- und Ökokunst angesiedelt und wird international ausgestellt.
